LAS VEGAS, NV – The longer you own Las Vegas Rental Property there is an excellent chance that you’re going to receive rental applications from tenants who have small children.

Renting to tenants who have small children is a smart move to make because those tenants may be more inclined to renew their leases. Why? They want will to keep their children in the same school district and near friends that they’ve established relationships with.

Before renting to tenants with small children you should childproof your rental property by following these tips.

Electrical Outlets

Cover all electrical outlets with outlet covers, especially in the kitchen/bathroom or any outlet that’s near a water source.

Doors And Windows

All doors and windows should have safety latches that can only be opened by an adult.

Water Heater

Set the water heater in your rental property to 120 degrees.

Window Coverings

Make sure that all window coverings do not having dangling cords which can become chocking hazards.

Protect Corners And Brickwork

If your rental has lots of corners or a brick fireplace, you should consider adding edge bumpers to these parts of your rental. This step will protect small children if they accidently fall into corners or brickwork.

Add A Safety Gate

This is especially important to do if your rental property has a staircase since it will keep babies or small children from falling down stairs.
