Checking Your GFCI Outlets

In this video, Mark Lister of Blackbird Realty and Management, Inc. talks about the ground-fault circuit interrupters installed in our properties. GFCI outlets are designed to save lives by shutting off electricity when a fluctuation is detected. Whenever your power goes out, make sure that you check every room and every outlet to see if the power is working. Most GFCI outlets will have a switch that controls the flow of electricity. If you call an electrician before checking all of the outlets within your home, the electrician might still charge you for something that you could have easily fixed. Be sure to check all of the rooms and the outlets before calling an electrician.
